Kassam hits Kibbutz Near Ashkelon

JERUSALEM (JTA) March 21, 2010 – A Kassam rocket fired from Gaza landed in a kibbutz near Ashkelon.
The rocket fired Sunday evening, which landed in an empty field, was one of four fired at southern Israel over the weekend, and one of 12 to hit the area in the course of a week.

No injuries or damages were reported.

The strike comes just three days after a Thai laborer working in Israel was killed by a Palestinian missile strike in the Negev.
Residents of the Negev spent the weekend in bomb shelters, Haaretz reported.

Last Friday night, Israel’s Air Force struck Gaza targets twice, reportedly injuring a dozen Palestinians.
