JWRP women visit Tzfat

The Jewish Women Renaissance Project mission visited the upper Gililean city of Tzfat on Wednesday. Dara Woods, the team’s madricha, said the the women toured a kabbalistic synagogue and a mikvah. They also made time for some shopping. Tzfat is considered one of Israel’s holiest cities, well known for the mystics who once called it home. Rabbi Joseph Karo, the great talmudist who codified the Shulchan Aruch, is buried there. Today, Tzfat  is known for its burgeoning artists’ colony.

  1. Tzfat is also the home to the Bar Ilan Medical Faculty, and the northern cachement medical center, Ziv Medical Center. A town of science, art and mysiticism.
