Judith Cumbler Retires

After 25 years of devoted service, Judith Cumbler, manager of counseling services, has retired from Jewish Family & Career Services.

Cumbler was the quintessential social worker, who provided services to clients ranging from young children to senior adults. She worked closely with the court system and schools in order to ensure that children’s needs were addressed and she mentored a new generation of social workers as a social work supervisor.

JFCS hosted a reception for Cumbler on June 3, and a variety of people representing colleagues, clients, friends and former students all spoke about the impact she had on them.

“We will miss Judith greatly,” says Judy Freundlich Tiell, JFCS executive director. “Judith has wonderful clinical skills, strong values and compassion, and a great respect for the clients and their particular places in the world. Her values are totally consistent with those of JFCS, and she was a wonderful representative of the agency in the community.”

Judith will be in Cape Cod for a year, spending time with grandchildren and exploring new opportunities.
