JHSMH Launches Free Updated Mobile Application

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare (JHSMH) has just launched an updated version of the organization’s free mobile application (app) designed to help community members find a physician, make an appointment, locate an emergency room, track their diet and more. The app is available on iPad, iPhone and Blackberry devices.

JHSMH was the first hospital organization in the region to develop its own custom mobile application when it launched the app last March. The app is a free download from the App Store on iTunes, the Blackberry App Store and through links available at www.jhsmh.org.

Updates include a more user friendly food diary and calorie counter and improved search options that help users monitor daily caloric intake by searching for food items by name and category, calculating caloric intake and compiling the information in their new food diary. New options within the “Find a Physician” service enable users to search for a doctor by location, zip code, medical specialty, gender, and office/after-hours services. iPhone and iPad users can also view JHSMH YouTube videos on their device.

Ongoing app features include: help finding locations of the seven area Jewish Emergency Rooms – JHSMH has the largest number of ERs in the city; a continuous stream of health news and tips; Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator; physician appointment scheduling and registration for JHSMH events.

“The improvements to our app are driven by user feedback,” said Jeff Polson, JHSMH Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “Our goal is to build an ongoing relationship with our patients and the app will need to grow and improve to meet their needs.”
