JFCS Pizza for the Pantry Was a Family Affair

The third annual Pizza for the Pantry was held Sunday, August 17, at Wick’s Pizza on Goose Creek. This fun event supports the Sonny & Janet Meyer Family Food Pantry Fund at JFCS. A record number of 300 plus tickets were sold. Guests came with family, friends and colleagues, and everyone to enjoy steaming hot, gooey, delicious cheese and veggie pizzas and even cinnamon sugar delight for dessert.

This year a per ticket contribution will be donated from the Rabbi Stanley Miles Discretionary Fund of Temple Shalom and Rabbi Michael Wolk Discretionary Fund of Keneseth Israel.

These funds will be used to help clients get emergency food, Kroger gift cards and cleaning supplies when they are in need.

Imagine falling on hard times and having nowhere to turn. JFCS is there to help pick up the pieces of shattered lives, help rebuild new education and career paths and connect people with resources that will help them become self-sufficient and self-confident. The food pantry and emergency services funds provide a lifeline for those in need.

They include: Susan Allen, Ann Leah Blieden, Nancy Blodgett, Frankie Bloom, Dara and Michael Cohen, Melanie Fadel, Marcia Frank, Michael Friedman, Jan and Alan Glaubinger, Linda and Steve Goodman, Carole and Larry Goldberg, Zach Goldberg, Harold Gordon, Marcia Gordon, Judy Halliday, Bob Hundley, Lois Marcus, Maxine Mellman, Janet and Sonny Meyer, Sheilah Abramson Miles, Louise Miller, Jerri and Tom Passo, Tami Penner, Eileen and Emily Renco, Jane Shapiro, Carole Snyder, Karen and Jay Waldman and Sara Yamin.
