From the moment you enter the JCC Early Learning Center you will realize you are part of a larger community. You and your child will experience art, music, theater, and fitness all under one roof. Our Early Learning Center features experienced faculty, large indoor and outdoor spaces, year round weekly swimming lessons, enrichment classes in Spanish, Music, and Discover Catch (a preschool physical education program), and so much more. We are proud to be the only Jewish preschool recognized by the Stars for Kids Now voluntary child care quality rating and improvement system and continue our work to improve child care in our facility and others. The curriculum framework offers a highly sought after learning experience where children learn to inquire and explore the world. Make the JCC ELC family part of your family tour today.
“The friendships we’ve made with other ELC families have extended well beyond the classroom walls.” -ELC Parent, Jenny (Zach-graduate, Nolan-2 years)
The ELC Program is designed to meet the needs of the whole child; cognitively, physically and socially within a loving and caring Jewish environment. Ours is a “hands on” approach in which the processes of learning and discovery are of prime importance. Each child will be encouraged to experiment and learn by doing, which will occasionally include mistakes. The noise you will hear in our halls is the joyous sound of children learning.
The ELC philosophy is based on the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) guidelines of developmentally appropriate practices for children and the accreditation standards of the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Additionally the ELC follows the quality standards outlined in the Infant Toddler Rating Scale and Early Childhood Rating Scale used to evaluate preschool programs in the Kentucky area.
“Being able to stop in the gym for a quick workout before I pick up the kids each day has been a lifesaver! I don’t think I’d be able to get my workouts in any other way. We also have Charley enrolled in private and group swim lessons during the day while she’s in school. On the weekends we visit the indoor pool as a family during open swim and Charley is able to show off what she’s learning in her lessons. It’s a lot of fun, and makes me feel more connected to what she’s learning during the day when I can’t be there.” -JCC ELC Parent Angie (Ben – 2 years, Charley – 3 years)
Congratulations! You have chosen an early childhood program that is recognized by the Kentucky Quality Initiative as a 2-star facility. A 2-star rating is awarded to a child care provider who meets the high standards of quality of care for the children enrolled in the program.
