For the Jewish Community Center, the J.B. Speed Art Museum’s Renoir to Chagall: Paris and the Allure of Color exhibit presented a wonderful opportunity for a family activity. On Sunday, February 26, 13 children from kindergarteners to fifth graders and their parents went to the museum for Painting with Dreams: Discovering Chagall.
Together, families learned about the Jewish artist, Marc Chagall, and his work by playing a specially crafted Bingo game. They also had the opportunity to see some of his work together.
Later, the children painted pictures in Chagall’s style using oil pastels and paint, while the adults toured the full exhibit and learned more about the artist from a Speed Museum docent.
