Israel’s Consul General Kutner to Speak Here

The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana is bringing Israel’s Consul General Daniel Kutner to Louisville on Tuesday, June 1, at 6 p.m. Kutner will speak on “Israel: Opportunities & Challenges on the Road to Peace” at Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald, 3500 National City Tower, 101 S. 5th St. Seats are extremely limited and tickets are $10.

In September, 2008, Daniel Kutner assumed the position of Consul General of Israel to the Mid-Atlantic Region of the United States, based in Philadelphia. He is the official representative of the State of Israel to the Mid Atlantic Region, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware, Kentucky, West Virginia and Southern New Jersey.

Prior to assuming his post as Consul General of Israel in Philadelphia, Kutner headed Israel’s Bureau for Economic and Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Center for Political Research.

Kutner joined the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983, and has served in Bolivia, Venezuela and in New York.

Kutner has held different positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Center for political research, including Director for Palestinian and Jordanian Affairs, Director of the Division for Egypt and North Africa, acting director of the Division for Syrian and Lebanese Affairs, and Senior Analyst for North Africa and Syria.

Kutner holds an M.A. cum laude in History of the Muslim Countries (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) an M.A. cum laude in Political Science/National Security Studies (University of Haifa), and a dual-major B.A. in European History and Middle Eastern Studies (Hebrew University). He is a graduate of the National Security College, the Senior Inter-Service Intelligence Course and other specialized programs.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Kutner immigrated to Israel in 1973. He is married to Shirley and has two daughters, Maia and Adi.
