IRAN DEAL WILL LIKELY PASS…SO WHAT’S NEXT?

September 8, 2015

With several new Senators and Congressmen announcing their support for the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) regarding the deal to limit Iran’s nuclear ambitions, it is now widely accepted that this agreement will pass. In the last three weeks our community has heard directly from Sen. Mitch McConnell and Rep. John Yarmuth, representing opposing views in Congress of this deal. Jewish communities around the country also head via webcast from President Obama, where he addressed concerns the Jewish community and Israel have about this deal.

Now that we know the deal will likely pass, it is important to understand how the deal will play out, how will we know it is working, and what World Powers can do to ensure that the terms of the deal are being fully implemented.

Please join me on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the Patio Gallery of the JCC as we welcome Dr. Patrick Clawson, who will help us understand these and other issues related to this agreement. Dr. Clawson is a scholar at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. This promises to be a fascinating and informative talk, and I urge everyone to attend, particularly if you have any questions or comments about the Iran deal and what it means for the future of the Middle East.

If you plan to attend, please click here. I look forward to seeing you there.
