Get Your Holiday Shopping Done Early: ELC opens gift bazaar for the holidays

Make your holiday shopping a simple pleasure instead of a stressful chore at the Inaugural Snowflake Shoppe gift bazaar on Saturday, November 21, from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, November 22, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., benefiting the JCC’s Early Learning Center.

“Its one-stop shopping for all of your holiday gift giving needs,” said event co- chair and JCC Early Learning Center teacher Melanie Price. “We’ll have gifts for ladies, children, men, pets…anybody.”

The JCC lobby, Patio Gallery and Linker Auditorium will become the ultimate holiday mega-boutique, filled with booths from nearly 50 local and national vendors.

Items and vendors include stylish jewelry and accessories from Stella & Dot, Mary Lamb Jewelry and Silpada, handcrafted soaps from Single Barrel Soaps, glamorous interior decorating items from Designs by Dennis Tapp, cosmetics and skincare products from Younique, Beautycounter and Jamberry, leather goods from Clayton & Crume, monogrammed items from Sterling Imprints, candles from Pink Zebra Home, cleaning products, books, toys, tote bags and clothing.

The Shoppe officially opens on Saturday, November 21 at 7 p.m. with a festive two-hour preview party. A $10 ticket gets shoppers an adult beverage, dessert and a raffle ticket.

Opening night will also feature a cash beer and wine bar, and a dessert competition among a handful of local independent bakers and confectioners, including Cellar Door Chocolates. Shoppers will sample sweets and vote for the winning dessert via cash donations.

On Sunday, the Snowflake Shoppe spree continues with swag bags for the first 25 shoppers. Gift wrapping will also be available for a donation to the JCC ELC. You’ll feel so accomplished when you walk out of the Shoppe with a haul of beautifully wrapped presents perfect for everyone on your list. Proceeds from the Snowflake Shoppe will benefit the JCC’s Early Learning Center.

“We have almost 100 children in our program, all of which are little sponges for learning,” said event co-chair and JCC Early Childhood Assistant Director Mindye Mannel. “The more we can do to enhance that developmental process the better.”

Babysitting will be available on Saturday. To secure a place for your child and for more information about the Snowflake Shoppe, contact Mannel at mmannel@jewishlouisville.org.

The Shoppe is still seeking vendors and sponsors. Contact Mannel for more information.
