Gators to Prepare for Summer with Spring Swim Session

With all the cold and snow we’ve had this winter, summertime swim meets may seem like a distant dream. But spring is right around the corner, and swimmers should think about getting prepared with the Gators Spring Swim session at the JCC.

“This is a chance for swimmers to get conditioned and practice for the summer, as well as meet some of our new coaches,” said Johnny Kimberlin, aquatics director. There will be no competition in the spring session, which runs April 13-May 9.

Immediately after the spring session comes the pre-season, then the summer season of the Louisville Swim Association Division 3 team begins on May 26.

Swimmers can sign up to swim one to three days per week in the spring session, Kimberlin said.

The coaches for this Spring will be new Head Coach Spencer Scarth, Rachel Sheets, Audrey Thomas and Austin Clark.

“I’m really excited to get the kids in the pool and start practice,” Scarth said. “The sooner the swimmers get started, the better they will perform in our summer meets.”
