For the Watts Family, JCC Membership Is Important

[by Ben Goldenberg]

The Watts family has enjoyed their family membership to the Jewish Community Center and has used many of the options available to them.

Reena Watts loves being able to work out 3 to 5 days a week at the JCC while her 4-month-old, Celia, plays in J-Play just around the corner.

She also comes to the outdoor pool during the summer with her 3 year old, Rafi, who is also coming to camp this summer.

Watts and her husband, William, are big supporters of the new Java Coffee.  “[Java] has been amazing. We absolutely love it. Rafi loves the chocolate scones, the baristas say he is their youngest customer!”

The Watts family keeps kosher, so they were able to use the Vaad catering services when they moved back to Louisville and did not have a kosher kitchen of their own in the apartment they were renting.

“Joyce [the J-Café chef] was a life-saver until we could get settled,” said Watts. “Being able to go to her to get kosher food helped a ton until we could get a kosher oven.”

She also had high praise for the Big Bang event last Wednesday, which was put on by the Jewish Community of Louisville’s Women Philanthropy Division.

Thinking about trying out the JCC before making the commitment for a full membership? Summer Memberships at Jewish Community Center, valid from Memorial Day through Labor Day, cost just $450 for a family and $350 for a single person, payment in full required.

Year-round memberships cost $73 per month for a family or $53 per month for a single person with a 1-year contract.

All members get free access to nearly 100 group fitness classes every week, sauna, five pools, racquetball, basketball and tennis courts. Members also get discounts on cultural and performing arts activities, personal trainers, summer camp, childcare and preschool.
