J-MAP: The Jewish Mentorship Alliance for Professionals

J-MAP: The Jewish Mentorship Alliance for Professionals is a unique combination of mentorship and networking within the Jewish community. The Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Louisville and the CareerQuest Professionals at Jewish Family & Career Services are proud to offer this exclusive opportunity with the purpose of enhancing the development of future young adult leaders within Jewish Louisville.

Overview

Through a six-month program, we connect young Jewish professionals with experienced Jewish professionals from the JFCS and Federation networks and beyond.
Mentors and mentees are matched with each other based on career interests, professional and personal goals. The program includes face-to-face meetings, facilitated workshops and events, including discussions to set and track goals.

J-MAP provides a forum for mentees to develop leadership and interpersonal skills through coaching and feedback while gaining new tools to advance their goals. Mentors will provide young professional participants with expertise and insight needed to grow successfully in their career while providing the opportunity to expand their leadership and interpersonal skills and gain new perspectives and ideas while sharing key insights and achieve personal goals.

Core Components:

  • Mentorship

Experienced leaders with different professions and backgrounds will serve as role models to younger members of the community to offer ongoing professional, personal and philanthropic guidance.

  • Networking

Building relationships and a sense of community among the participants within the same cohort.

  •  Self-Exploration

Through a series of workshops participants will be able to explore their chosen career path and better understand their unique skills and strengths such as the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strength Finder.
