VIALou Service Project
March 26, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeJoin other young adults at our monthly service project. This month we are partnering with My Dog Eats First to create packages for the homeless to help them care for their pets. We are also collecting items for the organization:
- Dog/Cat Food – Wet and Dry
- Heavy Duty Storage Bins (for our foodbank, to keep the mice out)
- Zip Lock Bags (1 or 2 Gallon and Sandwich Size Ziplock Bags)
- Clay Cat Litter
- Animal Food Dishes & Water Bowls
- Collars/Leashes & Harnesses of ALL sizes
- New or GENTLY USED (clean) fleece blankets
This project connect the values of derech eretz (treat others with common decency and respect), pikuach nefesh (protecting life and health), and leket, shichechah, v’pe’ah (caring for the poor with dignity). The goal of VIALou (Volunteers in Action-Louisville) is to connect the values that underscore the work and mission of JFCS to larger community service projects. VIALou members are between the ages of 22-40 and they meet monthly to do several hours of service. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Sobel-Berlow at lsobel@jfcslouisville.org or Naomi Malka at nmalka@jfcslousiville.org.
