Story Creation through Movement
October 6 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm
An event every week that begins at 4:00pm on Friday, repeating until December 1, 2017
Instructor: Mia Rocchio
Over the course of four weeks, preschool students will create a story using their bodies, voices and imaginations. We will begin by reading a story and learning about its parts—exploring basic plot structures in terms of rising action, conflict and resolution. We will then bring it to life by acting out our own version of the story. Through the use of improvisation, creative expression and team work students will create a vastly different adaptation of the original story. We will work on gaining tools to help us with our story-telling abilities such as, movement and coordination (including some basic dance, tumbling and yoga), vocal expression and range, character development through physical and vocal choices and creative problem solving.
2-year-olds through 3 ½-year-olds meet Fridays 4-4:30 p.m.
