A session for older kids, grades K to 4, will be held at 2 p.m. followed by a pre-K to 2 session at 4 p.m.
  • The chef instructor will read the selected book, or a passage from the book, then guide your kids/families through a recipe from the comfort & safety of their own homes

  • Parent assistance may be required depending on the child’s age and skill level

Book: There was a Young Rabbi: A Hanukkah Tale By Suzanne Wolf & illustrated by Jeffrey Ebbeler
Recipe: Petite Parsnip Latkes + Spiced Apple Pear Sauce + Cinnamon Sour Cream

“She made applesauce sweet for a Hanukkah treat. She made Latkes yummy and filled up her tummy.”

Ages 4-8: In this playful, rhyming story, Hanukkah meets “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.” On the first night of Hanukkah a rabbi reads from the Torah and lights the menorah. Each night, she adds something new — cooking applesauce, playing dreidel with her family and enjoying chocolate coins. Young kids will join the chorus in this rollicking read-aloud.

The class is free with advance registration, but it is limited to 12 families per session. Families will receive a shopping list prior to the class.
