The Great Women of the Bible with Rabbi David

This class will study the stories of seven women from the Bible: Daughter of Lot, Tamar, Miriam, Daughter of Pharoah, Ruth, Michal and Esther, and examine their contributions to the larger Biblical narrative.

Hebrew Language Classes *

1st Semester: Intermediate Hebrew

Pirkei Avot – Ethics of Our Ancestors with Rabbi Rooks

If I am not for myself…It is not incumbent upon you to complete the task…The world is sustained by three things…Timeless gems of wisdom from the Talmud that contain thought provoking insights still meaningful for today.

* No Hebrew knowledge required.

2nd Semester: Beginning Hebrew

Taught by Temple member Mark Goldstein, MA in Jewish studies from HUC

This is a beginning course for those who have not yet mastered the alef-bet and want to learn how to read Hebrew and learn some basic vocabulary. The goal of the course is to enable students to be more comfortable and confident accessing the Hebrew language of the prayer book.
