Revival

This film from Ma’ale School of Television, Film and Arts, depicts the story of Hemi, a religious 60 year old Bible teacher. One day, he discovers that the punk band in which his wife was a musician 30 years ago is reuniting. As the reunion approaches, memories of the wild past shake- up Hemi’s life. His marriage is threatened, along with his job and place in his religious community.

Pinhas

Finalist Student Academy Awards in Israel

This film from the Department of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University tells the story of Pinhas, a 9 year old boy, who emigrated from Russia with his mother. While his mother barely makes a living working night shifts, she devotes her spare time to an affair she has with a married man. On the third floor lives a religious family, and Pinhas is drawn to their warmth and unity. There he meets a girl his age and her older brother, who slowly introduces him to religion.
