Pinhas
Finalist Student Academy Awards in Israel
This film from the Department of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University tells the story of Pinhas, a 9 year old boy, who emigrated from Russia with his mother. While his mother barely makes a living working night shifts, she devotes her spare time to an affair she has with a married man. On the third floor lives a religious family, and Pinhas is drawn to their warmth and unity. There he meets a girl his age and her older brother, who slowly introduces him to religion.
