APPLES FROM THE DESERT

Nominated for Best Foreign Language film at the Golden Globes, Audience Award from the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and nominated for 3 categories at the Israeli Academy Awards. Rebecca, the only child of Ultra- Orthodox Jewish parents, begins to test the waters of the secular world, and finds herself interested in a young man from a kibbutz. Sensing that he is losing all control over his daughter, Rebecca’s father decides to marry her off to a widower with children, and her mother is unable to defy her husband.  In this thoughtful coming of age story no one remains unchanged. Nominated for three Israeli Academy Awards Winner and winner of several Audience Awards.
