Louisville Jewish Film Festival Special Event: NEIGHBOURS Live and Virtual

February 6 @ 7:05 pm - 8:00 pm

Virtual Special Event: (offered at the Speed Cinema or at home)

This programming is viewable virtually from the big screen at the Speed Cinema or from home. The film Neighbours was inspired by director and writer Mano Khalil’s personal life experience as a member of the Kurdish minority in Syria. Khalil, who currently resides as a refugee in Switzerland, will join us virtually to discuss this important humanistic work, in conversation with Dr. Riffat Hassan, Professor Emerita of Islamic Studies at the University of Louisville and founder of The Salaam Network, which engages in interreligious dialogue in the Louisville community; and with Dr. Asaf Angermann, Assistant Professor Term of Philosophy and Jewish Thought at the University of Louisville.
