October 13, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

7:30pm Havdalah, Wine & Cheese and “Hummus with a Heart: Stories, Demo & Tasting” Program

What’s Israel’s national dish and is it really mentioned in the Bible? Why did Lebanon sue Israel over Hummus? What are the absolute do’s and don’ts of hummus? Gil reveals the secrets of hummus and lets you taste!

About Gil Hovav:
Israel’s leading culinary journalist & TV personality, Gil Hovav comes from one of the most respected lineages in the world: the great-grandsom of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the reviver of the Herbrew language; grandson of Itmar Ben-Avi, who launched modern Hebrew journalist; and the son of Moshe & Drora Hovav, “founding members” of Israel’s modern day public radio.

During his illustrious career in journalist, publishing, TV and as an author, Gil has played a major role in the remaking of Israeli cuisine and the transformation of Israel from a country of basic traditional foods into a “gourmet nation.”
