Connecting With Communities Art Showcase

Connecting Communities brings two populations of women together using art to tell the story of shared experiences. This program focuses on refugee and immigrant women and women from Louisville’s senior populations. Over the course of three workshops, the women met and heard from artists who described how art has played into their own personal journeys and how they used their respective mediums. The women then worked on creating their own art. The Connecting With Communities Art Showcase is a gallery style showing of the work that was created and includes time for discussion, what was learned and participants’ experiences. Following the Art Showcase, the participating women will have the opportunity to keep producing work that could be sold at Navigate partner retail locations.
