Auditions for a new theatre group at Adath Jeshurun

AJ is launching a new theatre group, open to the community-at-large! This group will be dedicated to the production of plays and musicals with Jewish content, and all are welcome to participate regardless of faith or affiliations. There is no cost to participate.

Film Director, Yehuda Husband will be holding auditions at AJ for a theatre production of a dramatic Jewish dark comedy about a family sitting shiva, and trying to come to terms with loss and letting go. Six cast members are needed. Age doesn’t matter, but the actors and actresses must be able to pass for one of the roles listed below.

Grandmother in her 60’s

Grandfather in his 60’s

Brother in his 40’s

Daughter-in-law in her 40’s

Sister in her 40’s

Teenage son between ages 14 – 17

Auditions will be held at AJ today from 3:00 – 7:00 pm by appointment. Please prepare a two-minute dramatic monologue and be prepared to cold read from the script. Also, bring a headshot and theatre resume to the audition.

Rehearsals will begin in late May, and will typically be held on Sunday afternoons, and some weeknight evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The rehearsal schedule and performances will be flexible around cast schedules. All rehearsals and performances will be held at Adath Jeshurun, 2401 Woodbourne Avenue, Louisville, KY 40205,unless otherwise specified.
