AJ’s Speed Museum Tour

Join Speed Museum docent Janet Hodes and investigate the realities and fantasies of our American South at the Speed Museum. We will meet in the lobby of the Speed Museum. The tour will last approximately 75 minutes. Sunday admission is free, but there is a $5 special exhibition fee.
The exhibit is “Southern Accent: Seeking the American South in Contemporary Art, an in-depth exploration of the complex South and its profound influence on American culture. Most of the 130 + artworks are from the past 35 years, but include earlier work from the Civil Rights era as well. The 60 artists involved use a broad spectrum of approaches to create a composite portrait for a shared sensibility of “Southern-ness.”
