Adath Jeshurun Virtual Selichot Program & Selichot Service

Join us this evening for our virtual Selichot program & service. What is Selichot? The ten days beginning with Rosh Hashanah and then ending with Yom Kippur are known as the “Days of Awe.” This is a time for serious introspection, and a time to consider our sins of the previous year. The Selichot service prepares us for the Days of Awe. At the service, we recite prayers seeking forgiveness from God, and promise to improve our behavior in the New year.
Guest speaker: Reverend Della Porter, Senior Pastor of First Congregational Methodist Church.
Topic: A budding relationship between a church and a synagogue: How AJ’s sponsorship of a Little Free Library brought two faith communities together!
8:30 pm – 8:45 pm – Guest speaker and Havdalah service
8:45 pm – 9:30 pm – Selichot service with AJ choir
