Endowment Gifts

A named endowment fund of the Jewish Foundation of Louisville creates a permanent legacy, perpetuating your ideals and your name, ensuring the future of the Jewish community. It can provide critical resources to:

  • Respond to political and economic upheaval that put Jewish lives at risk around the world
  • Sustain cultural and educational programs that help ensure Jewish continuity
  • Guarantee resources for the communal services that meet the changing needs of Louisville Jews

The unrestricted endowment fund is a vital resource of the Jewish community. This is our community’s only source of emergency funds in times of dire need. Endowment funds generate income for immediate use, while the principal remains intact. Because unrestricted endowment gifts are available any time for any purpose, JCL is able to shift priorities as circumstances change, providing the flexibility to respond to crises as well as to opportunities.

Endowment gifts may be made outright, through testamentary instruments, or through deferred gifts that are established now, but benefit a non-profit at a future date. The Jewish Foundation of Louisville offers several endowment options that help strengthen the community while responding to your personal interests and needs:

Donor Benefits

  • Create a Living Legacy
Your endowment gift expresses your enduring commitment to the future of the Jewish people. It is an eternal gift that can make a critical difference in the days to come.
  • You and Your Community Benefit
Without income from the endowments, many critical needs would go unmet. In an unstable world, endowments play an increasingly important role in enhancing JCL’s capacity to respond to change.
  • Personalized
Your endowment fund may be established for a particular field of interest to you and your family. You may establish a fund to continue your JCL Annual Campaign gift in perpetuity. Or, you may establish a fund to benefit a particular agency or day school.

There are a variety of ways to structure your legacy gift.
