Cousins Allison Dixon of Louisville and Jake Kupferman of Milwaukee participated in the Taglit-Birthright Israel: Kenes-Awesome Israel trip from July 1 through July 12. There were approximately 40 young people, ages 18-26, on the trip from all around the country.
They spent several nights in kibbutzim, one night camping under the stars and several nights in Jerusalem. They visited the Dead Sea, Ben Gurion’s desert home, the Golan Heights, Masada, and Yad Vashem. They also cruised Lake Kinneret. It was an incredible learning experience and they both encourage everyone to participate.
Allison is the daughter of Kerri and Dennis Dixon and Jake is the son of the late Laurie Altman Kupferman and Steve Kupferman. Both are grandchildren of Barbara and Sonny Altman.
