Congregation Anshei Sfard hosted a barbecue cookout in honor of its softball team. The local synagogues compete in a softball league held at the Jewish Community Center over the summer. Anshei Sfard’s team, known as the “B” team or the “fun team,” is a conglomerate of members of Anshei Sfard, Temple Shalom and Adath Jeshurun’s “B” team. Adath Jeshurun also fields an “A” team.
On June 15, after the Adath Jeshurun’s “A” team played the “B” team, both teams and family members met at Anshei Sfard for a delicious dinner of salads, hot dogs and hamburgers grilled to perfection by Bill Yesowitch, Si Wolf and Steve Snow. More than 25 teammates and family members enjoyed the opportunity to socialize and partake of great food.
