‘Les Mis’ Pops Up In Community Theaters Across Country

“Les Miserables” is one of the most popular musicals in the world. It’s toured 42 countries in 22 languages. The original Broadway production won eight Tony Awards, and the latest film adaptation won three Oscars.

But for actors, roles in productions of Les Mis were hard to find, since the rights have been restricted for regional and community theaters.

That changed this year.



Manual High swimmer Peyton Greenberg is ‘Kentucky Fried Peyton’ at Israel’s Maccabiah Games

Manual High School junior swimmer Peyton Greenberg, who finished 22nd in the 200-meter breaststroke in last month’s national meet, is in Israel this month to compete with the U.S. junior team in the quadrennial Maccabiah Games. It’s an international multisport competition for Jewish athletes, similar to the Olympics, and it’s one of the world’s largest sporting events.

Louisville teens win 18 medals at Maccabi Games

The Louisville Jewish Community Center sent nine teen athletes to compete at the Maccabi Games in Austin, Tex. The games were held July 28 – Aug 2. In all, the group captured 18 medals– 12 for swimming, three in table tennis, two in dance and one in tennis.
