Community collects food for JFCS pantry over High Holy Days

At least 2,000 pounds of donations were collected during the High Holy Days by area congregations Jewish Family & Career Services’ Meyer Food Pantry. Scores of JFCS volunteers helped process the donations.
The agency received over 98 percent quality, unopened, unexpired items which is higher than average for any food pantry.
The pantry serves up to 150 clients per month. For Thanksgiving, the pantry plans to provide full meals with all the trimmings for 37 families; 125 clients, 931 children, 67 adults, 14 seniors and 1 veteran.
