Congregation Adath Jeshurun’s Chanukah Chappens program, coordinated by Cantor David Lipp, drew standing room only crowds for two shows at the Bard’s Town Lounge for the first night of Chanukah.
Cantor Lipp emceed the evening, lit the Chanukah candles while leading the audience in the blessings, and shared a number of Chanukah songs.
The program also included songs by Cantor Sharon Hordes, a comedy routine by Jason Gilbert, a story by Bob Sachs and a poetry reading by Michael Jackman.
Following the second show, young adults in their 20’s and early 30’s stayed for a party that included lighting the menorah, latkes, donuts and other snacks and a gift exchange.
The party was co-sponsored by the Young Adult Division and Adath Jeshurun.
