The Jewish Community of Louisville’s CenterStage company will hold their annual auditions at the Jewish Community Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 16 and February 17, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.; Saturday, February 20, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, February 21, from 2:30-5:30 p.m.
Building on another successful season, CenterStage’s Artistic Director John Leffert is looking forward to the next line-up of performances, including: Seussical, the Musical*, July 8-25, 2010; 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, August 26-September 5, 2010; Brigadoon*, October 21-31, 2010; “Light Up Center Stage,” November 13, 2010; Man of La Mancha, January 13-20, 2011; The Music Man*, March 10-27, 2011; and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, May 12-22, 2011. (*Denotes shows in which children will be cast.)
Adults (ages 14+) should prepare a one-minute monologue and 16-bar selection from a Broadway show tune. Children (ages 6-13) should prepare 16 bars of a Broadway show tune only.
Leffert encourages each participant to tailor his/her selections to the roles in which the actor is interested. To audition, bring sheet music, a headshot and resumé. CenterStage will provide an accompanist. No a cappella or accompaniment tapes or CD’s are allowed. If needed, a dance call will be done at callbacks.
