Bring Your Family to Celebrate the End of Summer at the YAD Picnic

[by Jacob Efman]

Come celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a great year of young adult programming with the Jewish Community of Louisville at the annual Young Adult Division Picnic in the Park. This year’s YAD Picnic co-chairs are Hunter Weinberg and Melanie Wachsman, who are really excited to host the event.

The YAD Picnic will be Sunday, August 22, from 4-7 p.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park. “This year’s picnic is all about family fun and celebrating our Jewish community. We’re going to have corn hole, arts and crafts, and a few more surprises,” said Wachsman.

There will be lots to enjoy for all ages including a variety of field games, raffle, and a special PJ Library story time with Marsha Roth.

“We’ll have family fun for everyone and hope to see everyone there. My family and I have always enjoyed the picnic in the past. We want to encourage every member of our community to attend this special annual event. It’s a great way to catch-up with old friends and make new ones too,” said Weinberg.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blankets to the park, and YAD will supply the ice cream for dessert. There will also be a cake walk; so don’t forget to bring a cake, too.

Don’t feel like packing your own picnic? That’s OK. Orders placed with Jason’s Deli will be delivered free of charge to the picnic. To place an order, call Lisa Kaplin, 457-4959, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., or e-mail lisa.kaplin@jasonsdeli.com.

Bring the family along, spend a relaxing evening with friends and meet others in the community. This event is open to the entire young adult community. For reservations, directions and more information, contact Amy at amyl@jfcl.com or 618-3310; or reserve your place online by clicking here.
