From beginning painting to life drawing, from pastels to watercolors, from real life to portraits, the Jewish Community Center’s Studio Art Classes under supervision of our qualified instructor, are designed to nurture talents, widen horizons, and enrich the lives of our students.

Silk Painting

Create the kind of beautiful window drapes or silk scarves you’ve always admired for yourself or for others as gifts. Through exercises and demonstrations, you’ll learn the process of hand-crafting your own original silk.

In the intermediate class students will build on the skill started in the beginner class by completing one big project by creating a long scarf.

Learn the unique nature of watercolor. Find the fun in learning to paint. Beginners are welcome.

Instructor: Sue Huttenlocher received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UofL in 1982 concentrating in painting. She has been a Continuing Education Instructor since 1975 and has served as president of the Kentucky Watercolor Society where she has won many awards.
