Apply for JDC’s 2012-13 Jewish Service Corps Now

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is accepting applications for its 2012-13 Jewish Service Corps (JSC) through March 15. JSC is a year-long, paid, professional opportunity for recent college graduates and young professionals to travel overseas and play a hands-on role in addressing global Jewish and humanitarian challenges.

By engaging in a variety of community-building, educational, cultural, and development-related programs, JSC fellows gain an unparalleled understanding of pressing issues and simultaneously build awareness about their work while in the field and upon their return.

“At the heart of our lifesaving work and the Jewish community connections we foster around the globe, are the people who put that mission into action. We’re privileged to have a group of young Jews in JSC whose unparalleled passion for change ensures we transform lives everyday. As we recruit for a new group of JSC visionaries, we’re on the look-out for that kind of drive and enthusiasm,” said JDC CEO Steven Schwager.
JDC currently has 25 JSC fellows serving in 11 countries: Argentina, Ethiopia, China, Germany, India, Israel, Latvia, Russia, Rwanda, Turkey, and Ukraine.

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organization. JDC works in more than 70 countries and in Israel to alleviate hunger and hardship, rescue Jews in danger, create lasting connections to Jewish life, and provide immediate relief and long-term development support for victims of natural and man-made disasters.
