Adath Jeshurun Wins The Golden Bagel

Led by Barry Baker’s 212 first game, the Adath Jeshurun Bears held off the Temple Shalom Ten Pin Topplers to win the first all synagogue Bowl-A-Pal-LOUZA.

Their prize was the Keneseth Israel Men’s Club Golden Bagel. The great 15-pound monument to bowling excellence will be on display at the Woodbourne Avenue shul until the October 17 fall rematch.

Finishing in third place were Keneseth Israel’s King Pinners, and taking fourth place and the “Baby Bagel” were The Temple’s Holy Rollers. Anshei Sfard’s Strikers were unable to field a full team, but on the plus side, the Striker’s Meryl Davis was the tournament’s high roller with a 193.5 average.

Kentucky’s senior rabbi, Temple Shalom’s Stanley Miles, looking around at the 46 bowlers, said, “This is the first time in all my years here that the five synagogues gotten together for an event like this, and it is my hope that we will cooperate in this and other programs to enhance our congregations and community in the future.”

The Golden Bagel was hand made by Temple Shalom’s Matt Karr with help from K.I.’s Dave Miller and Shaun Ross.
