Camp Tikkun Olam: Repairing the World

Grades: 6-8 • July 22-26

Change the world! This camp gives each participant a chance to make a difference by allowing teens to help others in a variety of ways. Potential service projects may include: Ronald McDonald House, Gilda’s Club, and American Red Cross. This camp also includes free swim, a bowling field trip, and a late night. Great way to gain Pledge 13 and Beta Club hours! Each day will consist of two or more hours of service.

Camp Tikkun Olam: Repairing the World will learn about how giving to non-profits and how they function. Through a grant from the Jewish Teen Funders Network, campers will act as a foundation board and review request proposals, go on site visits and award a grant to an agency they select.

Non-profit agencies who are interested in receiving funds, please return this RFP and return it to Rachel Lipkin at rlipkin@jewishlouisville.org by July 1.

Counselor In Training
(CIT) Program

Grades: 8-9 • July 8-19

Participate in this specialized leadership training program crafted to train our future camp leaders. This program includes an orientation, training sessions, opportunities to learn about all areas of camp and practical work experiences. CITs spend time both together as a unit as well as on “placements” with camper groups and specialty areas. They also participate in two off site field trips.
Upon successful completion of the CIT program, all participants will be awarded a certificate of completion and a reference letter.

All participants must be interviewed and selected for inclusion.

To apply to become a CIT, download the application. Return the application to Rachel Lipkin, rlipkin@jewishlouisville.org by April 10 and you will be contacted for an interview.
